Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning participates in Riyadh's Global Labor Market Conference

​​The Minister of Economy and Planning for Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Faisal F. Alibrahim, took part in the inaugural Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC) held in Riyadh on December 13-14.

The event, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, brought together government officials, experts, and innovators to tackle challenges confronting the global labor market and enhance its resilience.

During his participation, HE Minister of Economy and Planning participated in a fireside chat titled 'Investing in Innovation Sectors for Productivity Growth.' In the session, HE said “our ambition is to become a productivity-led economy, because that is truly how we can be sustainable and that is how we can be more resilient."

HE Alibrahim added that: “To achieve our objectives, the Kingdom not only needs to be an engine of growth for talent, but also a magnet for talent to come to the Kingdom." HE stressed the crucial role of industrial zones in creating unique job opportunities that require advanced skills. He also emphasized the need for a skilled workforce. During the session, HE Alibrahim highlighted the importance of events such as Riyadh Expo 2030, pointing out that such gatherings provide valuable opportunities to make the most of current prospects and create new ones. Furthermore, he emphasized the significance of attracting global talent to the Kingdom and developing local skills in line with the country's goals.

The two-day conference featured over 40 sessions with more than 120 speakers, bringing together government officials and international experts from various countries, along with heads of international organizations.​
